We’ve done it again!
Things to Make and Do was awarded a merit at the 2010 Practical Pre School Awards, following in the footsteps of the Living ABC that won Bronze at the awards ceremony in 2008.
We all know that young children learn best when they are having fun so what could be better than a creative and colourful activity book that combines learning how to paint, fold, trace, stick and cut with the teaching of early literacy skills? Published 1 April 2010 and drawing on Letterland’s extensive experience of producing high-quality phonics books, Things to Make & Do contains twenty-six simple and varied activities, each focused on one of the much-loved Letterland characters, designed to help develop key areas of your child’s skills – language, literacy, numeracy, communication and physical development.
Run around with Red Robot’s Exercise Routine! Impress your friends with Impy Ink’s Invisible Ink! Fancy a go at making Firefighter Fred’s Funky Frames? Why not tackle Talking Tess’s Tomato Puppet? Whatever you choose, you will find that each page not only includes a full list of what is required for the activity and clear instructions on how to do it but also alliterative language for each chosen letter and a series of stimulating questions that will get your child thinking about the letter in hand. And, when you have finished all of the activities in the book, there is a page that includes suggestions for twenty-six more!
Presented in an easy-to-use, wipe-clean ring-binder format, Things to Make & Do is a book that both you and your child will want to return to again and again.
